Kim-Scott
originates from Salt Lake City, Utah. Having been born and
raised there he was enrolled in the Brigham Young University
Youth Theatre Academy at the age of eight. Here he studied
the fine art of the monologue, character interpretation, vocal
delivery and small scene work for eight years with Dr. Grace
Nixon Stewart. The study of vocal music quickly followed and he was immediately employed for roles in musicals, dramas and television.
Upon the completion of his studies with Dr. Stewart, he pursued
further education in Drama and Musical Theatre from the University
of Utah. Here he studied with Dr. Keith Engar, Dr. Marilyn
Holt, Charles Morey and Dr. Xan Johnson. His vocal coach was
Blanche Christiensen and movement coach was Shirley Ririe.
During this time he financed his education with employment
from Disney and performing back-up for Donny and Marie Osmond
on their television show.
He proceeded to perform in four national tours of Fiddler
on the Roof (with Martha Raye), Hello Dolly
(with Dorothy Lamour), Little Mary Sunshine and Godspell.
Upon the completion of his last tour he decided to become
a classroom teacher. That has led him to teach and do research
in China, Jordan and Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of
the Congo).
Upon his return to the United States he chose to relocate
to the Washington, D.C. area. There he has resumed his teaching
and also his acting and singing career. He studies voice with Cathryn Frazier-Neely and continues to perform in small group and Cabaret venues in France and for private parties at restaurants in New York City. His cabaret show "Wherever
I Go I'm Taking Myself With Me!" has been
received warmly and continues to generate an audience. He is now a full-time New York based actor and singer. A current CD with familiar tunes and new compositions is now available. For your free copy, please contact via e-mail.
